Digital menu boards price by screen count
| Screens | 43" screens only | 50" screens only | Mounts | 43" all-in, CrownTV | CrownTV Dashboard, year 2 on |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $696 | $1,029 | Quoted | from $3,150 | $240/yr |
| 3 | $2,088 | $3,087 | Quoted | from $9,450 | $720/yr |
| 5 | $3,480 | $5,145 | Quoted | from $15,750 | $1,200/yr |
| 10 | $6,960 | $10,290 | Quoted | from $31,500 | $2,400/yr |
"Screens only" is the live QBC price times the count, freight included in the contiguous US. CrownTV all-in covers display, mount, player, install, training and the first year of software; we've multiplied its per-screen price by the count and haven't applied any volume discount.
Three ways to buy
Screens only. $696 per 43" or $1,029 per 50". You or a handyman hang them, load the menu from a USB stick or a cloud CMS, done. Cheapest, and fine for one store with an owner who's handy.
Screens plus your own installer. Add mounts (we quote them) and whatever your local installer charges. We won't guess that number; ask for a written quote that includes running power to the bracket height.
All-in. CrownTV's published price is $3,150 per 43", $3,250 per 50" and $3,450 per 55". That includes a CrownTV player and a year of its Dashboard software. Ask for an install quote.
Five-year software cost per screen
| Option | 1 screen | 4 screens |
|---|---|---|
| USB stick / open source | $0 | $0 |
| Samsung VXT ($150/yr) | $750 | $3,000 |
| CrownTV Dashboard ($20/mo) | $1,200 | $4,800 |
List prices times five years. The CrownTV all-in package already includes year one of the Dashboard. Detail on each option: menu board software.
Costs people forget
- An outlet behind every screen. Extension cords down the wall look bad and get unplugged by the night crew. Get the electrician in before the install day.
- Power. A QB43C draws 121 W typical and a QB50C 132 W. At 14 hours a day that's about 618 and 675 kWh a year per screen.
- Content. Someone has to build the menu. CrownTV Dashboard has menu templates; VXT and the free tools mean you or a designer make the layouts.
- The 16-hour limit. The QBC is rated 16/7. A 24-hour diner should price the QMC instead; the kits page shows both.

Digital vs printed menu boards: when the screens pay for themselves
We won't quote you a print shop's price; it varies too much by size, finish and city. Put in your own numbers instead. The screen side uses the live QB43C price ($696) and power from Samsung's typical figure (121 W).
What the calculator can't count: the 11:00 switch from breakfast to lunch without anyone on a ladder, pulling a sold-out item in a minute, and price changes on the same day your supplier raises costs. For a menu that changes twice a year, print is cheaper and that's fine. For a menu that changes monthly or runs dayparts, digital usually wins inside the screen's 3-year warranty.
One rule worth knowing: chains with 20 or more locations fall under the FDA's menu labeling rule, so calories have to show on the board whether it's printed or digital.
Menu board pricing: questions
How much does a digital menu board cost?
A digital menu board costs about $696 per 43-inch screen for the Samsung QB43C hardware alone, with free freight, or $3,150 per screen all-in when CrownTV installs it (display, mount, player, install, training and first-year software, checked October 22, 2026). Mounts, installation and software are what move the number between those two.
What is the monthly cost of a digital menu board?
Anywhere from $0 to $20 per screen per month for software. USB playback and open-source tools are free; Samsung VXT was listed at $150 per screen per year at CDW; CrownTV Dashboard is $20 per screen per month billed yearly.
Is a 3-screen menu board cheaper per screen than one screen?
On the store, the per-screen price is the same at 1 or 3. Volume quotes start to matter at larger orders, so send the quantity before you buy 10 or more. CrownTV quotes volume pricing at 5+ stores.
How much electricity does a menu board use?
A QB43C uses 121 W typical by Samsung's figures. Running 14 hours a day, that's about 618 kWh a year per screen. Multiply by your utility rate.
Do I need a media player?
Not with the QBC. Samsung builds a Tizen player into the screen. CrownTV's all-in package includes its own player; if you buy screens only and run VXT or USB, you skip the box.
Can I pay with a purchase order?
We accept purchase orders and tax-exempt certificates. Call (201) 834-6412 to set one up.
